I was part of a video interview recently. When I watched the replay, I realized that I looked so serious most of the time. So, I decided that next week I am going to consciously practice smiling.
If you know me, you’ll understand that I got curious about the body’s response to smiling and, yes, I looked it up on Google (I think Google is one of the best things ever invented). Sure enough, Psychology Today states, “The feel-good neurotransmitters – dopamine, endorphins and serotonin – are released when a smile flashes across your face. This not only relaxes your body but it can also lower your heart rate and blood pressure.” Who knew?!?
Well, as I have started practicing smiling more, I’ve noticed that I feel better no matter what I’m doing! So, I challenge you to smile a little more each day. Try it… you’ll like it!
