How Your Mindset Makes You Feel and React

Nothing is impossible. The word itself says, “I’m Possible!”

Audrey Hepburn

That quote epitomizes a growth mindset. Each moment in our lives can be viewed in many different ways and from many different angles. For any given situation we can look at it through fixed mindset lenses or growth mindset lenses. Think about the fixed and growth ways to look at the following: I can’t change it or I’m a work in progress. If I don’t try then I won’t have to risk failing or I only fail when I stop trying. I can’t do it or I can’t not do it. It’s too hard, I’m not good enough smart enough, talented enough or knowledgeable enough. Or I’ll practice to make it easier, I’ll study and get help to learn it, talent is developed with dedication and practice, Given the right tools, I can learn anything. And how about the tried and true, it’s too late or it never too late.

Mindset is the roadblock to change or the bridge to change. Only you can look at any given situation and decide. Do I stay the same and let the world change around me for good or bad? Do I recognize the changing world around me and learn to change with it or ahead of it?

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.

Mark Twain

So sail away from the safe harbor. Explore. Dream. Discover. It’s time to take a good look at ourselves and our lives and decide, am I happy in my safe harbor or do I want to explore, dream and discover new paths and new opportunities? As always, we have been given free will. The choice is yours.
